SafeLine standardises 4G VoLTE – now available for all modern lift telephone products
As some markets are moving away from 2G and 3G solutions, SafeLine counters the challenge and increases safety on all fronts by implementing future-proof 4G VoLTE alternatives all across the modern product range – a necessary transition towards the lift safety of tomorrow.
The reasons to invest in 4G VoLTE technology, instead of the standard 2G technology, are many.
Mobile technology company Ericsson forecasts VoLTE subscriptions will reach three billion by the end of 2020. Although most of those subscriptions are undeniably personal smartphones, the technology industry as a whole is clearly moving away from 2G solutions.
– We want to provide our customers with the most reliable and innovative products possible. That means making sure our products last a very long time, that they are an investment in quality for our customers. These 4G VoLTE versions operate over a wider range of frequencies and uses Long Term Evolution technology to ensure the connectivity of your products – increasing safety as well as their lifespan. Our future-proof range gives a clear advantage that the units will continue to work on whatever network is available – even if it’s a 2G, 3G or the latest 4G VoLTE, it will always work, says Geert Maurissen, SafeLine Group Managing Director.

SafeLine offers 4G VoLTE either directly integrated into the product, or as a stand-alone board for retrofitting into your existing SafeLine unit – something available now across the entire board of SafeLine’s modern lift telephones.
SafeLine has put an emphasis into providing 4G VoLTE for their customer, not necessarily for the benefits of IoT, but for the improved lifespan of products utilising a modern and more adaptive technology like VoLTE.
– With the current smartphone culture, we are used to all telephones already being prepared with VoLTE. But with industrial technology like this, the transition is a bit different and it is something the customer needs to take into consideration when acquiring a new lift telephone. Not only do you get practical benefits such as increased signal, but you are also effectively future-proofing your systems with VoLTE – making it a long-term investment, says Fredrik Karlsson, Swedish Area Sales Manager and Technical Support Manager at SafeLine.
The practical benefits of such an investment are clear when talking to customers about why they choose a 4G board instead of the standard 2G. In many modern buildings where no landline is installed, the 2G signal has a hard time penetrating the concrete walls, creating issues for the lift telephone when dialling out.
"Not only do you get practical benefits such as increased signal, but you are also effectively future-proofing your systems with VoLTE – making it a long-term investment"
– With a 4G VoLTE board, these problems are practically eradicated as it operates on a wider range of frequencies, meaning you get more reliable results with the better reception, something very appreciated and noticed by our customers, says Fredrik Karlsson.
